Unfortunately always an issue of great relevance… that of violence against women, brought forth in a very courageous song by Anna Tatangelo, entitled "Rose Spezzate" and in her latest album "Nel Mondo Della Donne", from Friday, Jan. 30th, in radio rotation.
A theme and a commitment that the singer has taken very much to heart and that is why she recently joined with Michelle Hunziker and Giulia Bongiorno in their activities as members of the "Dopia Difensa Onlus" which aims to give voice to discrimination, violence and abuses against them.
"I had the desire for a while to discuss some emotions of women. - Says Tatangelo - from the news of the arrival of a son, to a great love. But also moments of intense pain and fears. Many live in situations of submission and often do not have the strength or courage to reach out and recover their lives. With "Rose Spezzate" I would encourage these women to try not to continue to suffer or justify. And together with Julia and Michelle I am organizing events to bring more attention to these important and delicate issues."
The entire album (published on the label GGD Productions - distributed by Sony Music), produced by Adrian Pennino and Gigi D'Alessio, is a journey of 11 songs within the universe of women. A collection of stories entirely devoted to women and the nature of their lives: the joy of motherhood, the disappointment at the end of a love affair, the desperation of anorexia, of violence, of depression and the feverish emotions when starting a new relationship. Strengths and weaknesses, which together comprise the feminine world, without ever losing sight of hope, and all the positive things in life.
Even the musicians are great: Cesare Chiodo played bass, guitar by Fiordiliso Mauritius, Alfredo Golino on drums, Enzo Rossi, author of "Rose Spezzate" on keyboards and programming, Rosario Jermano the percussion, and Claudio Olimpio with an acoustic guitar.
The mastering was done by Greg Calbi (Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Dire Straits, Deep Purple, David Byrne, Brian Eno, Ani Di Franco, just to name a few) at Sterling Sound in New York.
"Nel Mondo delle Donne" is the fourth album of Anna Tatangelo, just 21 (trans. note: now 22), with her last two works "Ragazza di Periferia" (2005-2006) and "Mai Dire Mai" (2007), which have both exceeded 130 thousand copies, has collected much in gold and platinum. In 2006 she won first place in the category "Women" at the Festival of Sanremo with "Essere Una Donna" a song written by Mogol, and in 2008 with the song "Il Mio Amico", at the same festival, was the undisputed second place winner.
